JAKARTA – The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has released 23 Indonesian Under-16 National Team players who will depart for Malaysia to appear at the 2018 U-16 Asian Cup. The prestigious tournament which will be participated by 16 Asian countries will begin at 20 September to 4 October 2018.

The U-16 Indonesia national team coach, Fakhri Husaini, has bagged 23 names of players who competed in the 2018 U-16 Asian Cup. A number of players who were registered had previously begun to take part in the U-16 Indonesia national team training camp in Malaysia since the beginning of September 2018.

In addition to conducting training camps, the Garuda Asia squad has also conducted a series of trial matches. Including one of them when Indonesia U-16 national team was held to a 3-3 draw by Oman U-16 national team. At the U-16 Asia Cup itself, the U-16 Indonesia National Team joined Group C along with Vietnam, India and the Asian Cup runners-up U-16 last year, Iran.

Fakhri Husaini's squad clearly aims for optimal results. If they don't become champions, they should at least try to reach the semifinals. Because by qualifying for the semifinals, they will take part in the U-17 2019 World Cup which takes place in Peru.
